Northwave Extreme XC GTX MTB shoes keep your feet comfortably warm thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane - making them the perfect winter shoes for icy temperatures. Power transmission is given from the Carbon XC12 sole, with 100% carbon inserts in the pedal area, a 12.0 stiffness index (a measurement that indicates stiffness on a scale from 0 to 15). Strategically placed TPU inserts enable major grip and abrasion resistance.The upper part has a patented ultra-light XFrame and an overlap construction, made with the most innovative materials: it wraps the foot without any pressure point, helping to transfer every watt of power and at the same time eliminating energy dispersion. The rubber reinforcements have been lightened in weight (by 5%). Also, they are anti-abrasion and ensure 360 degrees protection along the entire shoe upper.An easy and even closure system is guaranteed by the SLW2 dial, the only one with a step-by-step release, which allows a millimetric adjustment of the shoe. The new Easyfit Climaflex collar combines the extreme flexibility of the Gore-Tex Rattler membrane with the high thermal insulation of Neoprene, guaranteeing mobility and protection. The wrapping and positioning of the heel are guaranteed by an anatomic seat and a solid thermoformed counter, in addition to the Arctic 4Layer insole made in Eva + aluminum + Eva + Pile to ensure excellent thermal insulation. For more safety, the 360 degrees reflective inserts enable excellent visibility on the road.

CARBON XC 12 – Extremely stiff when pedaling, thanks to the full-carbon insert in the pedal area, it ensures a long distance advantage thank to the extra flex in the medial zone. Engineered with TPU inserts in strategic points to ensure high traction and outstanding wear resistance, it stands out for its minimalist design that allowed to locate materials only where actually needed for maximum efficiency.
X-FRAME – X-Frame by Northwave is an innovative design, engineered to transfer every watt of power while providing the snuggest, even fit with no pressure points. Totally unique, it combines next-generation materials that are only 0.5 mm thick and ultra soft for exceptional comfort with a structure featuring 360 degrees reinforcements along the length of the foot that connects the sole to the laces via the upper. The result: a snug fit and perfectly balanced closure that pulls evenly around the entire foot from toe to instep.
S.L.W. 2 – Maximum precision and usability. The side button offers dual functionality: press the button for micrometric release, or lift the button to instantly undo the shoe completely. The ergonomic shape of the ratchet base matches the shape of the foot for added comfort, while the size and minimized weight plus the outer soft-touch covering make it easier and better to grip. It features wires that harness the best technologies used in sailing, and can be easily replaced.
