With the brake disc tester from CYCLUS TOOLS, bike owners and mechanics can quickly and easily determine when it's time to replace the brake disc. This is important to avoid unexpected braking problems and ensures that the bike brakes safely and reliably at all times. Regular checks with this tester ensure that the brake disc is in perfect condition and that its service life is maximized. Each brake disc has a wear limit specified by the manufacturer (MIN TH = Minimum Thickness). This value must not be exceeded, otherwise braking performance will be impaired and the rider's safety will be endangered. Most brake discs are labeled with the wear limit by the manufacturer. The brake disc to be tested must be clean to avoid affecting the test result. Set the tester to the wear limit specified by the manufacturer (MIN TH). Then use the locking wheel. Now place the tester's measuring probes on the braking surface. Ensure that the brake disc is approximately at a right angle to the brake disc. Do not test near holes or slots. Press the button down as far as it will go and read the wear reserve on the scale. Check at several positions to ensure the test result is accurate. The tester shows you how much wear reserve your brake disc has (displayed in 0.1 mm). The "STOP" position indicates that the brake disc needs to be replaced.

Brake disc manufacturers specify a wear level (MIN TH), which must not be exceeded at any point. If the minimum thickness is exceeded, the brake function and therefore safety are no longer guaranteed. New brake pads may only be installed if the minimum thickness is not exceeded.
