Shimano introduced a revamped Acera group set designed for entry-level mountain bikes. Thanks to the trickle-down effect, entry-level riders can now benefit from innovations made for high-end group sets. The main renovation of Acera includes a dedicated MTB and trekking version. The MTB version features a 40-30-22T crank, while the trekking version offers two dedicated gear combinations. Both versions feature mega 9 light drivetrains and have a better matching appearance.

Shimano Acera RD-M3000 rear derailleur with a long cage. The SHADOW technology provides better protection for the 9-speed RD, increasing its lifetime. The rear derailleur is compatible with cassettes with up to 36 teeth. The wide link design increases stiffness for smooth shifting performance and long durability.
