Handlebars

The handlebar is perhaps the most important part of a bicycle, the part that controls the bicycle. The handlebar can be straight for hybrid and mountain bikes, curved for city or touring bikes, or curved for road bikes.

Bicycle handlebars online

The handlebar of a bicycle is probably the main component with which we control our bicycle. The handlebar of a bicycle can be straight, which is intended for hybrid and mountain bikes, curved - for city or touring bikes, or curved, which is intended for road bikes. When choosing a handlebar, it is important that its width matches the width of your shoulders. If the handlebar is too wide, the shoulder blades can start to bend towards each other, which causes back and neck pain. If the handlebar is too narrow, the chest can be compressed and breathing can become difficult.

When browsing the internet or looking for ways to improve your bike handlebars, you will notice that there are different types and styles available, so we would like to share some information about them:

Cross/BMX handlebars

  • Special raised handlebars designed for better stability and power transfer
  • City and touring handlebars

  • Handlebars with one or more bends, but the ends are the same. Special "butterfly" handlebars with several C-shaped bends at the ends of the handlebars. The width is usually 550-700 mm.
  • Mountain bike (MTB) handlebars

  • Flat handlebars with one or more bends, but smooth ends. The width is usually 600-800 mm or more, to ensure optimal energy utilization and control.

    Triathlon/Time Trial Handlebar

  • A handlebar consisting of a main handlebar and additional accessories – bends and armrests. Allows you to adopt a special aerodynamic triathlon position.

    Road Bike Handlebar

  • This type of handlebar tilts downwards ("drops"), allowing the cyclist to adopt an aerodynamic position and better control the movement of the bike.
  • In the Bikko.bike bicycle store you will find a wide selection of bicycle handlebars. The products sold in our store are new and of high quality.
