The 26-inch bicycle is one of the three available wheel sizes for mountain bicycles and one of the most popular wheel sizes. 26” mountain bicycles were the very first mountain bicycles, and over time, larger 27.5” and 29” mountain bicycles were created. Compared to 27.5” and 29” wheel size, 26” wheels give the bicycle the greatest maneuverability, they are easier to control, because they respond to the movements of the cyclist very well. Since a 26” bicycle has shorter spokes, smaller rims and tires, the overall weight of the bicycle is also slightly reduced.
