Romet
This brand originates from Romet, the largest bicycle factory located in Poland in 1949.
At its peak, ROMET’s bicycle production reached 1,000,000-2,000,000 units per year. Models dominated the streets of Poland: Wigry, Jubilat, Zenit, Konsul, Gazela, Kometa, Wagant, Passat, Meteor, Orkan, Jaguar, Huragan, Universal, Reksio, Flaming.
During that period, ROMET factories changed owners, some were closed or reorganized, but in 1999 ARKUS bought the factory in Jastrowie, and a year later the factory in Kowalewo. The new owner of the factories also got the rights to control the ROMET brand.
In 2005, the plants in Jastrowie, Kowalewo, and Podgrodzie were merged and became a single structure - ARKUS & ROMET Group. In 2009 the group of companies resumed the production and sale of bicycles under the ROMET brand. It also reintroduces the Pegasus logo and reverts to the previous bike model names.
Currently, the company ARKUS & ROMET can offer not only bicycles, but also motorcycles, scooters, or even the Romet 4E electric car. In 2012, the group of companies became the exclusive representative of Korean HYOSUNG motorcycles in Poland.
