Bicycle tires can be used on smooth asphalt or off-road, on city or tourist trips. Therefore, tires should be chosen according to your needs. When choosing tires, it is important to pay attention to several aspects: size, width and tire pattern. Also, which bicycle the tire is intended for. From our selection, you can buy tires for mountain (MTB), hybrid, tourist, city, children's, teenage, BMX, gravel/cyclocross, electric, folding, women's, men's and other bicycles. There are also tires for road bikes.
Tire size and width are expressed in the standardized ETRTO marking XX-YYY, where X is the width of the tire and Y is the tire size in millimeters. If you spend most of your time on flat roads, you should choose a smoother tire pattern, and if you need better grip, choose a larger pattern. The tire pressure should be the same as that indicated on the side of the tire. Mountain bike tires are usually filled with about 2-3 atmospheres, city and hybrid bike tires with a pressure of 2-4 atmospheres, and road bike tires need a pressure of about 8-10 atmospheres.
Changing a flat tire is easy:
- 1. First, make sure you have all the necessary tools. Special tire replacement kits are available at bike shops.
- 2. Regardless of whether the damaged tire is a tubular or a tubeless tire, remove the wheel from the bike. This requires setting the bike to the lowest gear and releasing the brakes. Don't forget to let the air out of the tire by unscrewing, squeezing or pulling out the valve, depending on the type. Then place a special spatula between the rim and the tire. Remove the tire slowly, moving the spatula between the tire and the rim. Check them.
- 3. If you find a crack in the tire, put a rubber pad on it or apply quick-drying glue. Try to get the glue into the cracks. After repairing the tire, put the repaired tire back on the rim. Make sure the tire is tight, put the pump on the valve and fill the tire with air. That's all.
